The Hook!

I wear a bone fish hook necklace. Not because it looks cool, or cause I’m a jewelry guy. Fact is, other than a wrist watch, I’ve never worn any jewelry except my wedding ring.

That said, I put my bone fish hook necklace back on EVERY morning after shaving!

I would like to relate somewhat of a fiction story that is basically a nonfiction story. I say that because I don’t want anyone getting all fowled up in religion or the worship of other gods, paganism or any other junk. Just take it for what it is and remember, it’s only stupid if it doesn’t work!

The meaning behind the Hawaiian bone fish hook necklace came from the deep connection and reverence the Hawaiians had for the ocean.

The ocean surrounding them was their source of food and their means of travel.

A bone fish hook represents strength, prosperity, abundance and a great respect for the sea. This is why I wear one EVERY DAY!

Today, fish hooks are mostly worn by those who have some connection to the sea, understood or not. It may be a family vacation when you were young, a yearning to vacation beneath palm trees, or simply because you like Zac Brown’s Island Song.

Ancient Hawaiians believed that a bone necklace takes on part of the spirit of those who wear it. The necklace becomes a sacred link between people, spanning time and distance. In this way, it becomes a spiritual link and should be handed down. A carving that has been worn by family members over many generations contains the spirit of all those people and is a powerful heirloom.

My necklace was purchased from Amazon. Just the way I roll! I didn’t know when I ordered that it was hand carved in Hawaii, I just knew it looked WAY cool, and was right at the price point I wanted!

Three things became very apparent about my bone fish hook necklace over the course of the 6 months I wore it.  If I wore the hook open to the left, my days were stress free and good as could be! If I wore it to the right, my days were a little rough and there were always challenges. But the challenges came out in the end.

Take this for what it’s worth, but I figure that if it’s open to the right, it’s taking in energy, worn the other way it’s giving out energy!

The third thing, was that as a hairy chested sort of manly man.... The thing is getting SHARP! The tip is nearly a needle point after a few months of ware.

Sorry to cut this off, but my attention span is limited, as is your time! Check back on Tuesday for the
rest of the story!

Have a great weekend....
~Cheers!
