This is the one event where world famous (and World Class) brewers, gather behind the table to bring their products to the people!

If Sam or Vinnie has never poured you a beer, you need tickets to GABF!

Tickets will be available for purchase to the general public online on Wednesday, July 31 at 10 a.m. MT/12 p.m. ET via

Tickets didn't last more than a few hours last year, so don't be late, and don't forget to have a backup internet connection... just in case!

PDR Short Run

When it is too early to start cooking and the chores are done, when the grass needs watched and the afternoon sun melts away any stresses that the day piled on, it's time to grab a drink and a cigar!

Sometimes you just have to give in to the day, and Sunday was just that day for me.

With all of the new tiki torches assembled and the yard mowed, watered and made nice, I grabbed a PDR Short Run Cigar from the new humidor.

This Dominican beauty looks and smells far better than it actually is, but it's still damn fine!

Upon removing the plastic, I could immediately smell those big, rich, full flavors of the Habano wrapper. As it turns out, those big beautiful flavors are a bit timid and hard to find. It's like an extra light maduro wrapper!

The flavors are all there, leather, spice, cedar... they are just very subdued. Which actually worked out very well.

As the afternoon wore on, I realized how enjoyable this cigar was hitting my palate. I wasn't in the mood for an ass whipper of a cigar. Just as how I was content with a rum and Diet Coke, I wasn't ready for a double imperial ass whipper of a beer either.

Celebrate Kahuna Style

Happy 4th of July Peeps!

Today is a great day, the sun is shining and the birds are singing!

It's a great time to celebrate our independence from the British, set off some fireworks, drink some craft beers and enjoy friends and family!

This is also a dangerous time, so do the fireworks and crazy cannonballs off the diving board before you imbibe in a bunch of craft beers! I don't want to hear about anyone getting hurt!

We ate our test batch of Pork Butt yesterday and watched some fireworks, tonight I will be rubbing three more butts for a party on Saturday, so we will be eating well and celebrating for days to come! Just be careful!

Have a great day, a great weekend and some great beer!
